About this site

Limits of Variation is a series of visual bookmarks of research in progress. Given the isolated nature of writing, my terrible note-taking, and a desire to work iteratively, I decided to launch this in November 2022. The experiment was then short-lived, but one I’ve always wanted to come back to. I am returning to it now, roughly four years later.

The site is intended as a kind of dispatch from the “archive,” whatever and wherever that may be. I aim to publish two posts per month. Most will be short-form analyses of images or things I encounter while reading and writing, but I may also try to write short reviews of recently published books and articles.

Posts are for subscribers only, but the subscription is free.
